About Me

Hi, my name is Emma! My goal in life is to use my sister Courtney's story of trafficking to change the world. My sister's story of sex trafficking didn't start with her first trafficker, it started with her never knowing her father. That was the initial invisible wound that started to convince her that she wasn't enough. In high school, she was raped in the school's bathroom. That wound started to convince her that her body was merely an object to the world. Over the decade that she was sex trafficked, everyone saw the decline in her mental and physical health. The sister I grew up with who I thought was the coolest person in the world had disappeared. She was an object to be sold in the eyes of her traffickers, an object to control through violence and drugs. She fought so hard to heal the mental and physical wounds that she had carried all of her life, but she never found true victory over it. She passed away alone of a drug overdose in 2022 leaving behind our mother, her adopted father, two sisters, and two beautiful sons. Her story will always push me to fight the injustice of the world to protect as many people I can from the disgusting actions of some people in the world hoping to use others as a tool for greed and control.
